TOUGHTECTILE

TOUGHTECTILE is a 3.0 mm bonded solid vinyl tile developed as a direct alternative to ceramic floor tile.

• It delivers a stone or concrete appearance without the weight, the brittleness, or the installation programme of ceramic — and without the grout line that becomes a maintenance liability three years into a building's life.
• At 5.4 kg/m² it is approximately 75% lighter than ceramic tile, which changes what is possible on suspended floors, on upper levels, and on any project where structural loading or material handling is a constraint.
• The tile is built up as a Tough Coat over a patterned layer, a clear wear layer and a backing layer. The UV-cured surface carries the NW-EX no-wax finish, so the floor is designed to be maintained without polish.

Its defining characteristic is tolerance of a less-than-perfect sub-floor.

The 3 mm body and two-sided bevel are designed to conceal minor sub-floor variation that would telegraph through a thinner resilient finish — which makes it a strong candidate for refurbishment over an existing hard floor.

Colour shading varies deliberately from tile to tile. Laid out, this reads as natural stone variation rather than as a repeating print.
