RE/COVER green, the new ecological elastic-design flooring collection from Vorwerk has been awarded the highest ranking M1 classification for low emissions from one of the leading information services in the Finnish building and construction industry.

The RE/COVER green collection was issued the highest grade Emissions Class M1, a seal of approval from the Building Information Foundation RTS. The classification system used by the Finnish company is widely recognised as one of the leading tests of quality and emission levels of products used in construction throughout Scandinavia.

Manufactured on the basis of naturally regenerative raw materials, RE/COVER green makes use of products such as castor oil extracted from the seeds of Ricinus Communis, the tropical castor oil plant. The organic polyurethane utilised in RE/COVER green completely replaces the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) used for conventional design flooring without any loss of quality.

When subjected to an emissions test over a period of 28 days for factors such as ammonia, carcinogenic substances, formaldehyde and a test for odours, RE/COVER green passed all tests successfully to attain the quality designation.

The award means the RE/COVER green collection also complies with the European Community REACH Regulation. As if that weren’t enough, RE/COVER green has been awarded the “Blue Angel” ecolabel, too, reflecting the careful and thoroughly incorporated ecological approach taken by Vorwerk to its design and manufacturing processes.
