Care & Maintenance

How to care for your Laminate Flooring:

  • Do not wet or steap mop
  • Vacuum or sweep floor regularly. General cleaning once a week is recommended
  • Remove spills promptly
  • Place mats at exterior and interior doors to trap sand and grit from incoming traffic
  • Use rugs on high traffic areas
  • Attach soft pads to the base of all furnishings in contact with the floor
  • When moving heavy furniture or appliances, always pick them up rather than sliding them across the floor
  • Keep pets' claws properly trimmed to avoid excess scratches
  • Maintain a consistent humidity of 35-55% in the room - if necessary use a humidifier/dehumidifier
  • Any mirror scratched or damage can be repaired using natural orange oil or Bona® repair kits available from most good flooring retailers

What not to do:

  • Do not let sand, dirt or grit build up. They act like sandpaper and actually abrade and dull your floor
  • Do not steam mop or wet mop floor surface area after installation. Too much water can cause it to swell and warp
  • Avoid walking on your Style floor in narrow points or stiletto heels as this may scratch the coating
  • Do not use waxes, oil soap or other household cleaners on the floors as these may dull the surface and make refurbishing difficult
  • Do not roll or slide heavy furniture or appliances across flooring
