The De Marqué Wide Plank 15mm is the newest addition to the collection — a 240mm-wide ABC Grade European oak engineered plank that delivers wide-plank drama as the architectural feature of a space. Specified where parquetry isn't the design language but scale and proportion are, this format suits open-plan residential, design-led commercial and projects with timber-feature design intent.

THE DETAILS AND THE BEAUTY

A 240mm plank changes the proportion of a room. Where a 190mm board reads as conventional residential timber, a 240mm wide plank reads as architectural — fewer joints across the floor, longer visual lines, and a quieter, more contemporary surface. The ABC Grade allows full natural character — knots, gum veins, sapwood and tonal variation are present and visible, expressing the oak's origin rather than concealing it.

Technical

A 240mm plank places higher demands on substrate flatness and adhesive bond than narrower formats — wider boards show more cupping and gapping if installed over an out-of-tolerance substrate. Sub-floor flatness must not exceed 3mm deviation over a 3m radius in any direction. Concrete slab moisture content must be 2.5 – 4.5% prior to direct-fix installation.

The format installs as direct adhesive (full trowel) or floating with cross-linked PVA in the T&G joints. Direct fix is recommended for acoustic performance and stability at this width. Custom widths and colours are available on request — minimum quantities apply.

15mm Range: 240mm wide, 15/4mm thickness, multi-ply substrate.

Profile: Universal Tongue & Groove (1 side tongue / 3 sides groove).
Installation: Direct adhesive (recommended) or floating with cross-linked PVA D3/BS EN 204 in T&G.
